About the Role

As the Research Associate Supervisor, you will be the linchpin in managing Research Associates and supporting Scientists in their studies/projects. Join forces with the Laboratory Sciences Senior Manager of Operations to craft visionary plans that shape the trajectory of our scientific endeavors.

 

What You'll Do Here

  • Take the reins in managing and inspiring Research Associates, fostering a collaborative and motivated work environment.
  • Share your knowledge by training other laboratory staff in technical procedures, contributing to the growth and skill enhancement of the team.
  • Dive into the operational details, evaluating and optimizing laboratory resources to achieve goals, meet study deadlines, and consistently deliver high-quality results.
  • Work closely with the Laboratory Sciences Senior Manager of Operations to formulate current and long-range plans, objectives, and policies, ensuring alignment with our organizational vision.
  • Supervises staff in Laboratory Sciences department and completes annual performance
    reviews.
  • Supervises and assists with quality control and lab proficiency programs. Assists in reviewing data to ensure accuracy, completeness, consistency and compliance.
  • As needed, prepares and/or oversees writing and revision of standard operating procedures
    (SOPs).
  • Promotes and monitors adherence to standard operating procedures and GLP regulations.
  • Assists in evaluating workflow and lab processes for improvements in operational
    efficiencies (i.e. automation, work-flow, etc.).
  • Ensures laboratory materials and equipment, and use thereof, are compliant with safety policies, SOPs and GLP guidelines.
  • Supervises other exempt and non-exempt staff as assigned.

 

What You'll Need to Succeed

  • Bachelor’s degree in a scientific discipline.
  • 0-3 Years of supervisory experience
  • Experience in an FDA or regulated laboratory. Hands-on experience in GLP method validation and performance of in vitro assays and lab methods for preclinical studies.
  • Experience in training employees on scientific equipment.
  • Moderate to advanced computer skills required.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, software manuals, study documents, and procedure manuals; the ability to speak effectively to employees of the organization.
  • Ability to apply advanced mathematical and statistical evaluations to scientific for interpretation and presentation to staff and upper management.
  • Requirements include training in GLP regulations and knowledge of ongoing analytical regulations, laws, rules, and notices on guidelines concerning preclinical drug development, and business communication.
  • Continuing GLP training.
  • Basic computer software skills including Microsoft word processing, spreadsheet and database programs.
  • Team leadership and excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of tasks simultaneously.

 

What We Offer

The salary range estimated for this position is $70,000-$90,000. Please note that hourly rates/salaries vary within the range based on factors including, but not limited to, prior relevant experience, skills, education, certification, location as well as internal equity and market data.
