Are you a front desk superstar able to inspire the best from those around you?  Can you lead a team to perform to a high standard while maintaining a fast pace and prioritizing between multiple tasks? As Front Office Supervisor you’ll help oversee the smooth operation of the hotel, working proactively with colleagues across all departments to create an outstanding guest experience.


Duties:

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Motivate, train and lead front desk colleagues;

  • Supervise the front office team to ensure operational procedures are followed, tasks are completed and standards are met;

  • Lead by example, creating an enjoyable and productive work environment that embodies the core philosophies of Banff Lodging Company;

  • Anticipate and respond to customer requirements, both face-to-face and over the phone, and work with colleagues in all departments to create an exceptional guest experience;

  • Investigate and resolve guest concerns in a timely and professional manner;

  • Proactively oversee guest registration and room assignments, accommodating group bookings and other special requests to the greatest extent possible;

  • Create, cancel and amend room reservations;

  • Provide information to guests on hotel facilities and services, as well as local points of interest and amenities

  • Process payments and ensure all financial transactions are processed accurately;

  • Ensure a smooth transition between shifts, including handover of all relevant information and tasks;

  • Oversee all health & safety and emergency situations in the absence of a duty manager;

  • Additional duties as assigned.   


Qualifications:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills (English essential);

  • Strong numerical competence;

  • Superior organizational and time management skills;

  • The ability to motivate and lead employees in a busy, fast-pace and high-quality environment;

  • Strong attention to detail and ability to prioritize between tasks;

  • Able to work a flexible schedule including weekends and holidays;

  • A minimum 6 months of experience in a front desk role, preferably at a supervisory level;

  • Experience using Maestro will be considered a significant asset.
