About the Role:


The Corus team based in Calgary is currently seeking a Casual Quality Control/On Air Operator to join their team. This position requires shift work including overnights, weekends and Statutory Holidays.

The following highlights the primary functions, but does not outline all of the duties and responsibilities that may be assigned to this position.

Responsibilities:

  • Accountability/ Responsibilities:

  • Excellent attention to detail

  • A firm understanding of broadcast operations workflow and process is required.

  • Good internal and external communication skills.

  • A firm understanding of the Master Control environment.

  • A good understanding of video/audio technical parameters in order to be able to troubleshoot signal problems.

  • Promote and represent Corus in a positive manner.

About You

What We Need From You:

  • Applicants should have at least one (1) year experience in television operations. Equivalencies will be considered.

  • A technical degree or diploma is an asset.

  • Experience with Harris automation, and a strong understanding of video/audio systems is advantageous.

  • Familiarity with server based technology.

  • Strong technical and communication skills

  • Switch programs manually during live events

  • Operate Ingest equipment to record/edit/playback material for broadcast
