About the Role:

Reporting to the Program Director, Corus FM Radio, you will be responsible for amplifying the best of Corus Radio’s content on social media, increasing audience engagement and upholding Global News/Corus Entertainment standards and best practices. You will work with a small team of social media strategists, on-air announcers, and promotions teams to create and curate digital content and position it for Corus Radio’s ever-growing social media audience.
 

Responsibilities:

  • Create and curate digital content and position it for various social media platforms, aligning them to SEO best practices

  • Maintain the brand vision and voice across all platforms in both visual and copy storytelling

  • Strengthen audience engagement by posting, monitoring, and responding to comments, messages and other feedback from users to maintain brand integrity and bolster engagement

  • Craft social media copy and create visual content (photography, blog posts, gifs, photo collages, video, live Streams, etc.)

  • Draft content calendars in collaboration with various teams in markets across Canada

  • Work with the Digital Strategy Manager of FM Radio to create social media best practices and content standards and implement these plans within your local market

  • Assist the Globalnews.ca team in sharing stories, as appropriate, to Corus Radio websites and social feeds

  • Analyze data in real time to ensure that we are meeting KPIs

  • Work with announcers to capture on-air and behind-the-scenes contentand viral stories

  • Leverage great on-air content and capitalize on the digital components to bring the social audience to on-air

  • Collaborate on new innovative ways to create content and tell compelling stories across multiple platforms

  • Implement paid campaigns on social platforms

What We Need From You:

  • College or university degree (or equivalent experience)

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in radio, online media or equivalent

  • Proven ability to grow a brand’s digital footprint with clear and actionable content strategy plans

  • An expertise in and passion for radio and social media

  • Ability to write and edit compelling copy optimized for different social media channels

  • Proven ability working with Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and YouTube for business and creating content optimized across all platforms

  • Strong working knowledge of WordPress CMS.

  • Experience using streaming applications – Facebook Live, Instagram Live, IGTV, etc.

  • Experience with live streaming hardware an asset – such as Switcher Studio

  • Experience with third-party scheduling tools an asset -- such as Social Flow or Hootsuite

  • Experience creating and monitoring social paid campaigns using Facebook Ads Manager

  • Excellent shooting and editing skills using a DSLR camera and digital production equipment

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and Adobe Creative Suite (including Premiere Pro, Photoshop, and Lightroom. Knowledge of After Effects an asset)

  • Experience in graphic design an asset

  • Diverse content experience across multiple verticals and formats, including digital video, text articles, blogs, social media tools, digital photography, etc.

  • Excellent organizational, communication, and creative skills

  • Experience working with several internal and external stakeholders on multiple projects at once

  • Ability to work in collaborative environment with ease

  • Must be able to adapt in a rapidly changing media and technology landscape

  • Enthusiasm and passion for all things radio -- everything from music, the arts, pop culture, sports, as well as a keen interest in technology and digital media

  • Familiarity and passion for our brands – CISN Country and 92.5 The ‘Chuck
