Position Summary


Reporting to and under the general direction of the Vice President, Engineering & Innovation, the R&D Engineer is responsible for the development of innovative new products, redesign existing products, and perform research and testing on product concepts.



Responsibilities:


  • Assist in the design and development of cutting-edge Heat products through designing, prototyping, testing and modeling

  • Develop validation plans and conduct validation testing via CFD and CAD Modelling and Lab Experiments

  • Collaborating with other technology developers and partners, and close communicating with suppliers

  • Support production activities

  • Support regulatory filings to various government bodies

  • Support the development of intellectual property

  • Assist in DFM (Design for Manufacturing) activities

  • Project Management

  • Involved in preparing research proposals, reports, and delivering presentations.


Qualifications


  • Background in Mechanical or Mechatronics Engineering degree required with a focus on 3D CAD and CFD Modelling and Product Development

  • Hands on prototyping experience in a lab environment.

  • Proficient in 3D CAD and Design on Solidworks and CFD Modelling on Autodesk® CFD

  • 3 Years + experience in 3D CAD/CFD, Meshing, simulation and post processing.

  • Knowledge in development and testing of Electrical Circuits, Printed Circuit boards and Electrical components.

  • Ability to independently develops and adapts work plans based on vague or changing project goals

  • Strong hypothesis-driven experimental design and statistical analysis skills

  • Demonstrated experience in creative engineering design

  • Candidates should be self-starters and have a hands-on approach

  • Ability to work independently and within a diverse group of engineers and production staff

  • Superior communication skills (verbal/written) and demonstrate strong leadership skills
