Research and Development Engineer

Reporting to and under the general direction of the Vice President, Engineering & Innovation, the R&D Engineer is responsible for the development of innovative new products, redesign existing products, and perform research and testing on product concepts.
Assist in the design and development of cutting-edge Heat products through designing, prototyping, testing and modeling
Develop validation plans and conduct validation testing via CFD and CAD Modelling and Lab Experiments
Collaborating with other technology developers and partners, and close communicating with suppliers
Support production activities
Support regulatory filings to various government bodies
Support the development of intellectual property
Assist in DFM (Design for Manufacturing) activities
Involved in preparing research proposals, reports, and delivering presentations.
Background in Mechanical or Mechatronics Engineering degree required with a focus on 3D CAD and CFD Modelling and Product Development
Hands on prototyping experience in a lab environment.
Proficient in 3D CAD and Design on Solidworks and CFD Modelling on Autodesk® CFD
3 Years + experience in 3D CAD/CFD, Meshing, simulation and post processing.
Knowledge in development and testing of Electrical Circuits, Printed Circuit boards and Electrical components.
Ability to independently develops and adapts work plans based on vague or changing project goals
Strong hypothesis-driven experimental design and statistical analysis skills
Demonstrated experience in creative engineering design
Candidates should be self-starters and have a hands-on approach
Ability to work independently and within a diverse group of engineers and production staff
Superior communication skills (verbal/written) and demonstrate strong leadership skills
