Position Title: Business Setup Specialist

Reports To: Manager, Group Issue and Special Projects

Department: Group Issue
Term: Permanent Full-Time 


  

 

Work Arrangements: This is a hybrid role. You will work in our office in Waterloo, ON a minimum of two (2) assigned, consecutive days every other week, plus a fifth (5th) assigned day per month. You are welcome to work from the office more than the minimum requirement and there may be some roles that are required to work in our office more than the minimum requirement.

​​The Opportunity: Equitable is looking to add a Business Setup Specialist to our growing team! We’re looking for a highly motivated candidate with outstanding attention to detail and strong communication skills. ​What you will be doing:​  

  • Accurately implement new policyholders with Equitable (system set up and plan documents)
  • Provide accurate and timely support for plan changes (system and document updates)
  • Analyze and set up Group Benefits and create contracts, booklets, and endorsements to support new issues and plan amendments
  • Employ effective customer service and act as a liaison with the Regional Sales Offices, utilizing both excellent communication skills, and in-depth knowledge of group insurance systems and Group Benefits
  • Amend the setup of plans within the system to enable other departments to administer and adjudicate claims according to contractual provisions
  • Co-ordinate workflow with other business units to ensure smooth transition of information across the Group Division

  • Strong customer service skills
  • Ability to multi-task while juggling conflicting priorities
  • Comfort and confidence working in an ever-changing challenging environment
  • Interest in continuous learning
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Windows, Word and Excel
  • Bilingual in French and English, both spoken and written is an asset
