Reporting to the Fires Product Manager and working closely with Marketing, Sales, Engineering and Product Development teams, the Category Associate will support the advancement of our new product development initiatives. We are seeking a driven, passionate, well-organized, collaborative individual to provide insight into the execution of our product plan, which will achieve our marketing objective of becoming the brand of choice for Residential and Commercial home comfort in the Americas. The successful candidate will use their prior marketing experience to provide support on new product introductions in addition to becoming a product SME and managing the day to day activities of the category. We need a marketing champion to join a cross-functional team, focused on creating advanced products with industry leading design and quality.


Market Knowledge and Competitive Analysis

  • Understand and communicate the market dynamics in each product category

  • Utilize competitive analysis tools to become an expert on all key competitive products and recommend a product strategy to compete in those segments

  • Identify gaps in current assortment (both core and complimentary product), providing insight to help support and drive the product roadmap


New Product Development:

  • Support the category strategy by recommending new product introductions that will achieve organizational objectives as defined in the product plan

  • Fully evaluate and investigate all opportunities from a user perspective

  • Assist with the development of business cases and budgets for new product introductions.

  • Complete detailed financial analysis to determine product viability for each new product introduction

  • Product lifecycle management - responsible for auditing each phase of the lifecycle and identifying areas of opportunity – cost reductions, product enhancements and ensuring solid transition plans are in place.

  • Conduct regular pricing analysisin conjunction with finance.

  • Develop product communications and presentations for both internal and external stakeholders

  • Provide support for product training and customer line reviews

  • Support and improve the knowledge base within the company ensuring the accuracy of all information throughout the process

  • Support Marketing Communications, Sales/Business Development and Customer Service where required to solve issues related to Glen Dimplex products and incorporate learnings into future product development

  • Liaise with others throughout the organization to identify product improvements on new and existing products.

  • Work collaboratively with sales to understand customer requirements and to identify ways in which we can further validate consumer expectations and ensure that we are designing with the consumer in mind.

  • Support the MarCom team by providing a clear product marketing brief that identifys key features/benefits, specifications, positioning and channel strategy to facilitate the development of marketing programs/collateral.



  • University Degree in Marketing and/or Business Management

  • Two (2) or more years’ experience in a Marketing capacity

  • Strong writing and presentation skills

  • Shows initiative, solutions focused.Comfortable with ambiguity, engages manager as needed.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple priorities and projects simultaneously.

  • Strategic, tactical thinker with exceptional problem-solving skills that is committed to excellence.

  • Interpersonal awareness with a drive to build collaborative relationships

  • Solid analytical aptitude.

  • Strong and flexible organizational skills to meet the needs of the business.

  • Strong skills in using MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook)

  • Strong Project Management skills

  • Bilingual (Fr/ English) an asset
