SUMMARY

Assists in the repair and maintaining of machinery, equipment, physical structures, plumbing and electrical systems of the facility: according to supervisory instructions.Fabricates parts and components for projects and repairs as needed. Ensures the operation of plant is consistent during the second shift. Second shift hours are Monday -Thursday 4:30 pm - 3:00 am.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.Other duties may be assigned as needed.

  • Form and fabricate parts and components for projects or repairs of equipment, working from graphic, written or verbal directions and specifications.

  • Uses past practices, basic data tables, handbooks, and technical references to determine sizes, capacity, dimensions, materials and other working data in the course of repair work.

  • Maintains a working understanding of plant production process equipment, systems and facilities in order to perform maintenance effectively.

  • Works in cooperation with engineering, tool and die, production management/supervisor and external expertise as needed.

  • Analyzes and repairs mechanical systems of equipment and related components under general direction.

  • Maintain an organized work area, maintenance shop and other work areas following 6S standards.

  • Lubricate and adjust production machinery according to prescribed procedures.

  • Bends and cuts conduit and wire.Drills holes in walls, floors and ceilings for electrical connections as needed.

  • Connects wires to motors, fixtures, and other electrical equipment, replaces switches and fuses, and splices wire as needed in normal course of job.

  • Bends, cuts and threads pipe as needed for installation of plumbing, pneumatic or hydraulic systems.

  • Builds simple structures from wood, metal or other materials as needed.

  • Welds, assembles and fabricates using hand tools, power tools, welders, and any other needed shop equipment.

  • Provides routine building maintenance in the form of paint, drywall repair, both inside and outside building.

  • Operates industrial lift truck as needed in the course of repair work.

  • Perform preventative maintenance procedures on building and equipment.

  • Respond to emergency situations during and after work hours.


ADDITIONAL JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • Self-motivated, with high energy, an engaging level of enthusiasm, and tremendous integrity and work ethic.

  • Utilize Lean tools to continually improve processes.

  • Perform all job duties in a safe manner, adhering to the safety rules, regulations, and standards of Cadet.

  • Participate in the continuous improvement of processes and products, sign-up for Kaizen events, attend Lean training when offered, and willingness to share personal observations and suggestions for improvement.

  • Good judgment skills.

  • Team player, willing to do what it takes to get our customer orders completed.

  • Ability to communicate professionally, respectfully and effectively with employees at all levels within the organization, as well as with vendors, and other business partners.

  • Must be able to maintain composure and keep a positive, professional demeanor while working under stress with numerous interruptions.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

The technical nature of this position requires the candidate to have 5+ years experience in the field of maintenance and knowledge of manufacturing functions and equipment.
