We are looking for an EDI Programmer Analyst to join our IT team at our head office in Cambridge. The role of the EDI Programmer Analyst is to develop, coordinate, implement, and communicate the organization’s strategies and initiatives for Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) systems. This individual is responsible for ensuring that EDI-related production and procedures are maintained and properly executed, including development, change requests, and enterprise integration projects. A demonstrated commitment to customer service is critical as the role is a key contributor to the overall success and reputation of the IT department.


  • Participate in design and review of new applications and integration strategies of EDI systems.

  • Coordinate with 3rd party EDI service provider and new trading partners to set up new processes and provide optimal level of customer service to ensure availability, reliability, and scalability of EDI systems to meet business demands.

  • Implement mapping changes and vendor profile

  • Setups in collaboration with stakeholders and EDI Service Provider

  • Troubleshoot and remediate failed EDI transactions in a timely manner

  • Document EDI specifications and process mapping

  • Define and implement strategies for integrating EDI and non-EDI operating environments.

  • Establish and implement policies, procedures, and technologies to ensure EDI system security.

  • Evaluate and implement new technologies and strategies to support business objectives and priorities.

  • Comprehensive analysis and reporting of statistical data.

  • Project management including requirements gathering, developing business cases, budgeting and resource scheduling.

  • Identify opportunities to continuously improve service levels and technical environment/infrastructure


  • Related post-secondary education.

  • 5+ years practical experience in a similar role.

  • Superior customer service skills providing prompt and courteous support.

  • Strong problem solving and trouble shooting skills allowing for efficient and effective identification of problems and the ability to apply appropriate solutions.

  • Responsible, quick learning, motivated and proactive personality.

  • Attention to detail combined with excellent follow-up skills to bring issues to resolution.

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (both written and verbal).

  • Ability to communicate effectively at all levels of the organization.

  • Superior time management and prioritization skills including the ability to multi-task.

  • Expert knowledge of EDI standards (ANSI EDI X12) specifically working with 810, 856 and other documents.

  • Proficient in transport protocols such as AS2, FTP/SFTP, HTTP/HTTPS and VAN.

  • Expertise in SQL programming (Oracle PL/SQL, SQL Server T-SQL).

  • Experience with Microsoft SSIS, data warehouse, supporting Oracle and Microsoft SQL Server databases would be considered an asset.

  • Flexibility to work after hours, sometimes unscheduled, to support maintenance and project workload.
