ISC's mission is to be a comprehensive settlement agency working together with immigrants and their families to make Canada home. Immigrant Services Calgary seeks to hire a Chief Operating Officer (COO), reporting to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) to oversee ongoing operations and procedures to create a remarkable organization.

Duties and Responsibilities:

- Lead the execution and day-to-day operations of strategies developed jointly by the CEO/Board of Directors
- Oversee Program Directors, Human Resources, Operations and Informational Technology
- Advise the CEO on tactical organizational development and key planning issues, and make recommendations on major decisions
- Keep the CEO informed about organizational activities, potential threats, opportunities, and recommended actions
- Assist the CEO with community leadership, fundraising, and relationship building
- Assist the CEO in creating innovative strategies to diversify funding resources
- Creating and communicating operations strategy and policies
- General oversight of all operational functions, including research and development and regulatory affairs
- Create high performance culture and encourage managers to evaluate and take actions that are consistent with agency’s overall strategy
- Develop innovative systems and services to facilitate exemplary and highly effective operations
- Design and implement evaluative metrics to measure the effectiveness of programs and services
- Provide direction and support in the development and implementation of research and valuation tools to support program development, staff training and social impact reporting
- Serve, on occasion, as a spokesperson for the agency

Qualifications:

- A seasoned professional with extensive non-profit experience in a leadership capacity
- Understanding of business functions such as HR, Non-Profit Finance, marketing, etc.
- Knowledge of funding models, government structure, and the political environment for raising funds
- Knowledge of fundraising is a plus
- Degree (Bachelor or Masters) in Business, Public Administration or Social Services
- Five years of progressively more complex managerial experience
- An equivalent combination of education and experience with a focus on for-profit and non-profit organizations will be also considered
- Ability to work in a highly collaborative and results-oriented environment
- Working knowledge of data analysis and performance/operation metrics
- Working knowledge of IT/Business infrastructure and MS Office
- Outstanding organizational and leadership abilities
- Excellent interpersonal and public speaking skills
- Aptitude in decision-making and problem-solving
