Objective:

We are looking for a Global Tax accountant for Indirect taxes and Corporate taxes. The Global Tax accountant will be the principal point of contact for indirect tax questions and will be responsible for their filing.  To succeed in this role, you should show interest in following changes to tax regulations and laws. Excellent time management skills are also essential, as you’ll have to ensure our company meets tight deadlines.  Global Tax Accountant responsibilities also include organizing and maintaining records of tax payments.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Be the principal point of contact for indirect tax questions
  • Liaise with external auditors and tax authorities
  • Responsible of filing indirect tax (or making sure it’s been done by subsidiary)
  • Prepare income tax payments
  • Estimate and track income tax returns
  • Follow industry trends and track changes related to taxes
  • Complete quarterly and annual income tax reports
  • Organize and update the company’s income tax database
  • Prepare necessary paperwork for income tax payments and returns
  • Share financial data with the accounting department  
  • Prepare and update transfer pricing requirements

 

 

Required Qualifications:

  • BSc degree in Accounting, Finance or relevant subject; industry certification (e.g. CMA or CPA) is preferred
  • Experience and expertise in European indirect tax (VAT)
  • 5-7 years of pertinent work experience with Indirect Tax, as a Tax Accountant, Tax Analyst or Tax Preparer
  • Knowledge of cross jurisdiction transactions
  • Knowledge of accounting and bookkeeping procedures
  • Bilingual (French and English)
  • Computer literacy (MS Excel in particular) & familiarity with accounting software
  • Excellent analytical and time management skills
  • Strong numeracy skills
  • Keen attention to detail

 

The role is subject to travel.
