The Ontario Cannabis Store provides safe, responsible access to recreational cannabis for adults 19 and older. We operate the sole legal online store for recreational cannabis in Ontario and we are the provincial wholesaler of cannabis for private retail stores.

About the Role 
We are looking for an Account Manager to join our Account Services team to develop strong wholesale client relationships with private retailers licensed to sell recreational cannabis. As Account Manager, you will be the primary point of contact with new clients, to effectively orientate them to do business with the OCS.   As the strategic point of contact for clients, you will work closely with OCS internal departments to review Key Performance Indicators and Service Level Agreements to provide superior client service.   

You will use your extensive retail expertise to have strategic and tactical conversations with our clients regarding inventory levels, assortment variety, and order management trends/forecasts, and provide valuable industry insights to support revenue generation. As Account Manager, you will be the voice of the client as you collaborate within OCS to create solutions for our clients and our business that demonstrate our collaborative, client centric, and continuous improvement focused culture.

About your Day:
  • Establish strategic, long term relationships with clients which includes onboarding and orientation, facilitating regular KPI reporting meetings, establishing proactive communications and providing ongoing business support.
  • Represent the voice of the client within the OCS to ensure client centric, continuous improvement culture.
  • Liaise on behalf of the client to establish credit terms and follow up on account receivable or other financial issues.
  • Proactively review order management trends for service issues and work with internal departments to problem solve and develop continuous improvement opportunities.
  • Develop sales forecasts to provide market intelligence to business development, merchandising and supply chain.
  • Maintain a strong knowledge base of product and accessory offerings to ensure that clients have appropriate inventory levels and variety to establish a successful retail environment.
  • Manage projects internally applying strong project management skills.

About You:
  • Post-Secondary education in Business Administration or a related field and/or equivalent combination of work experience and post secondary coursework. 
  • 5+ years of retail management experience as a Store/District Manager and/or as an Account Manager.
  • Demonstrated experience and understanding of the processes involved in supply chain, inventory, retail and customer service.  
  • Excellent client relationship management skills.
  • 1-2 years of experience in utilizing data analysis, including: sales forecasting and trend analysis.
  • Experience creating strong relationships with a diverse client group. Experience creating strong relationships with Indigenous or First Nations communities would be a strong asset. 
  • Excellent verbal, written and presentation skills.  French language skills would be an asset.
  • Intermediate Microsoft Office skills.
