Financial Analyst

SCOPE OF THE POSITION
 The successful candidate will join the Finance function and report to the Ontario Assistant Controller. This role works closely with the Finance and Operations functions.
 
THE MANDATE:

• Analyze production runs to ensure proper consumption of raw materials and packaging with a three part focus on quality, inventory and cost. 
• Analyze production runs and prepare waste reporting, analytics.
• Provide statistical and financial reporting on Operational results that is timely and accurate.
• Understand Post Production role to collaborate and explain causes of waste to management team.
• Update and analyze plant expenses and review with plant department managers.
• Prepare month end close analytics, corresponding journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Assist in monthly forecast and annual budget preparation.
• Assist in Year End Audit and Close Activities.
• Other ad-hoc duties as assigned.

THE CANDIDATE:

• University or college degree in in accounting or finance, preferably management accounting.
• CMA / CPA candidates will be given special consideration.
• Minimum 2 - 3 years of experience in Finance or related field.
• Experience in manufacturing industry or inventory management is a strong asset.
• Must have strong Excel skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong data collection and analytical skills.
• Ability to multi-task and problem solve in a fast-paced and results driven environment.
