About the role:

 

We seek an enthusiastic, ready-to-learn-and-grow Communications Coordinator to join our corporate communications team. In this newly created full-time position, you’ll work with our Director, Internal Communications and Graphic Designer, and side-by-side with the current Communications Coordinator, executing the programs, campaigns, and events that engage Corus employees.

 

You will also work closely with the Directors of our external communications and corporate social responsibility portfolios on various public-facing business activities and projects, including investor relations and sustainability.

 

In sum, this exciting position supports all the corporate communications that help build Corus’ employee culture and external brand, which consistently make our company one of the best places to work in the GTA and Canada!

 

You will contribute by:

 

  • Supporting communications across internal, external, and corporate social responsibility portfolios.
  • Drafting a wide variety of communications materials.
  • Supporting the execution of communications campaigns.
  • Contributing ideas and approaches to enhance communications and increase employee engagement.
  • Supporting daily content creation on Corus’ intranet; creating and distributing Corus-wide internal newsletters in the areas of well-being, sustainability and more.
  • Supporting corporate and internal events onsite at Corus Quay.
  • Working closely with the current Communications Coordinator on daily work and large projects.
  • Overseeing some administrative functions for the department (expense reports, invoices, etc.).

 

Skills and experience you will bring:

 

  • Bachelor’s Degree, Diploma or Certificate in Communications, Public Relations, or Journalism—new graduates are welcome.
  • Strong understanding of corporate communications (internal, external and CSR) best practices.
  • Exceptional writing and editing skills; ability to write to different audiences.
  • Comfort in verbal communication. 
  • Strong research, presentation, and organizational skills.
  • Attention to detail, with an action-oriented character. 
  • An ability to work independently and as part of a busy, dynamic team.
  • Ability to manage projects, juggle competing workloads and meet deadlines with time-sensitive work.
  • Strong capacity to manage stakeholders and build relationships with diplomacy and ease.
  • High level of proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook
  • Capacity to think creatively and analytically.
  • Aptitude to consider next steps, forward-think, problem solve.
  • Familiarity with design principles, design training, or design savvy would be an asset.
